Today we started our 2011-2012 school year! We wanted to be on our daddy's school schedule so we can try to take all the same breaks that he does to enjoy our time with him when he is home. Today was a good day- my 2nd grader and my Kindergartner were excellent students...the preschooler; not so much! Well I didn't have her doing as much as the other 2 but she sat in with us on our Bible time and our History lesson. Her brother still has noise issues and has trouble concentrating with her little voice in the background, so everyone is working on this- being tolerant and being quieter! We also didn't finish everything in the morning cause mommy needed to get her workout in. (This will change when I am not babysitting 2 other kiddos in the afternoons and I can do my workout while the kids are having rest time.) Colby joined me for half of my basement run and we will call that PE! And we will finish his phonics lesson this afternoon. Colby is realizing his 2nd grader work load is going to be a lot more than first grade; but I know he will do perfectly! I LOVE homeschooling...I cannot fathom having to send my kiddos off to school right now- I love every minute of everyday with them. (ok- sometimes not EVERY minute) but for the most part I love my kids and our time together! Here are a few pictures of our morning- ENJOY!

It looks like we have a lot in common: homeschooling, thrifting, and 5 year old Hallie's/Halley's. Maybe they can be penpals? My Halley would love love love to have another little girl her age to write to. We have tried the penpal thing with some other children but it always fizzled out on their end. If you're interested let me know! And hey, we could count it for writing, right?
What a fun day! We are Rod & Staff users also. Have a great year together!

Hello! I'm dropping by from the NBTSBH. My number 1 reason for homeschooling is time with my kids. I wouldn't trade it for the world! Have a blessed year.
